Springer Center for Internships

Students are encouraged to gain career-related work experience prior to graduation. Through internships, cooperative education, and part-time employment, the Springer Center for Internships helps students identify professional development opportunities that integrate classroom theory with supervised work experience.

Internship and cooperative education courses are available to students in all five colleges of the University and include reflective learning assignments that complement the work experience. Students can choose from several options that align with the academic calendar:

• Part-time: Students attend classes while working part-time with a local employer.

• Full-time: Students work full-time during an academic semester or summer.

• Full-time alternating: Students alternate between periods of full-time study and full-time work.

The Center offers workshops and one-on-one advising to guide students through the internship and co-op process. Because employers make the final hiring decisions, placement is not guaranteed. Student-secured jobs may be approved if they meet the University's work-learning criteria, but work assignments and credit will not be approved retroactively. To participate in registered internship experiences, students must be enrolled at Bradley University.

While on a registered full-time internship or co-op assignment, students maintain full-time student status, make normal progress toward a degree, and retain all University privileges. With departmental approval, these students may also register for additional classroom study.
