Program Mission

The Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) Program is committed to providing students with a comprehensive education in human communication and in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of communication disorders across the lifespan. The SLHS leveling certificate provides post-baccalaureate students with the minimum requirements needed for entrance into most graduate programs in speech language pathology or audiology.

Completion Requirements

Students must successfully complete all 21 hours of SLHS leveling certificate coursework. All CSD courses must be completed with a “C” or better. Courses may be substituted with approval from the department chair if students are applying to a graduate program that needs a specific course not currently included in the leveling certificate.
