EHS Global Scholars Program/Bradley University Coordinated Global Scholars Program
Becoming a Global Scholar at Bradley University allows you to develop global and cross-cultural expertise and marketable skills in your field that get you noticed. Just as important, you will have a sense of community as a global citizen, both within and across Bradley’s Colleges. Along the way, you will become a better collaborator and leader, and have many opportunities to hone your intercultural communication and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.
Program benefits include: Global Scholars designation on your degree audit and notation on your official university transcript; recognition by the Dean of the College; opportunities to interact with guest speakers, Global Scholars from all other Colleges at the University, Bradley alumni, and international students; specialized career advice and Smith Career Center programming.
In the fields of education and health sciences, awareness of global developments and cross-cultural competencies are crucial for respecting and learning from people of other cultures, whether they are patients, students, clients, or colleagues.
The Global Scholars Program (GSP) is designed to prepare professionals for this international state of affairs. The Global Scholars designation can be earned by any student in the College of Education and Health Sciences regardless of major. In addition to enriching the college experience, designation as a Global Scholar helps Bradley graduates stand out in job searches.
When planned early in the college experience, completion of the GSP entails neither additional expense nor additional time to graduate. Global Scholars complete 13-16 hours at Bradley University and participate in international/global campus activities, service activities, and internationally-focused seminars.

2. One globally focused 1-credit seminar, with an additional seminar recommended
The required globally focused seminar is EHS 300 Professionalism Across Cultures.
If students take a second seminar, it should be from a College other than their home College.
Choose from: CFA 300 CFA International Option Seminar, EGT 301 CCET Global Scholars Seminar, I B 101 International Intellectual and Cultural Events, LAS 125 Global Topics in Liberal Arts and Sciences + other seminars as approved by College Global Scholars Coordinator/Advisor.
3. Participation in an approved international cultural study-abroad experience
Minimum of 3 semester hours earned through a Study Abroad experience
If a student completes their Departmental International/Multicultural Course (listed above under the required core courses) during their study abroad, then the course would count for both the core and the study abroad requirements.
4. Internationally-focused campus and community student engagement opportunities
Minimum of 20 clock hours of activity approved by the departmental Global Scholars advisor, 5 of which are service related.
5. Focused Seminars
Participation in two or more internationally-focused seminars sponsored by departments or college faculty.
Admission Criteria:
- Completion of one college semester
- Submission of an essay (contact the EHS Global Scholars Coordinator/Advisor for details)
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (which must be maintained throughout the Scholar program)
