CCET Global Scholars Program/Bradley University Coordinated Global Scholars Program

Becoming a Global Scholar at Bradley University allows you to develop global and cross-cultural expertise and marketable skills in your field that get you noticed. Just as important, you will have a sense of community as a global citizen, both within and across Bradley’s Colleges. Along the way, you will become a better collaborator and leader, and have many opportunities to hone your intercultural communication and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.

Program benefits include: Global Scholars designation on your degree audit and notation on your official university transcript; recognition by the Dean of the College; opportunities to interact with guest speakers, Global Scholars from all other Colleges at the University, Bradley alumni, and international students; specialized career advice and Smith Career Center programming.

Students enrolled in the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology have an opportunity to earn the designation of Global Scholar in recognition of achievement in global technical studies. The EGT Global Scholars designation may be earned in conjunction with any baccalaureate degree earned within the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology. 

Coursework for the Global Scholars Program has been designed to broaden student perspectives by providing enhanced preparation for careers in a global marketplace. Topics and issues taught on both the Bradley campus and in international environments will develop within students a capacity to assess international business opportunities and to understand business in the context of different cultures.

Global Scholars have the opportunity to study abroad as early as their sophomore year, and attend seminars with experienced international business leaders

2. One globally focused 1-credit seminar, with an additional seminar recommended 

If students take a second seminar, it should be from a College other than their home College. 

Choose from:  CFA 300 CFA International Option Seminar, EGT 301 CCET Global Scholars Seminar, EHS 300 Professionalism Across Cultures, I B 101 International Intellectual and Cultural Events, LAS 125 Global Topics in Liberal Arts and Sciences + other seminars as approved by College Global Scholars Coordinator/Advisor.

3. Participation in an approved international cultural study-abroad experience. 

0 additional hours - Immersive cultural study abroad experience + a 2-page reflective essay on the student’s experience 

4. Internationally-focused campus and community student engagement opportunities 

Global Scholars are highly encouraged to take advantage of the many co-curricular opportunities available on campus relevant to the Program goals, for example:

• Seminars/presentations by international business leaders
• Expert lectures on global topics
• Participation in relevant student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, and the Society for Hispanic Engineers

Global Scholars must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
