Business Analytics Minor

Many professional disciplines require analytics knowledge. The purpose of the business analytics major is to prepare students to gather, cleanse and analyze data for decision making. There are many new and important features associated with modern business analytics:
- dealing with large and messy data sets,
- figuring out how to distribute and share the data throughout an organization,
- mining the data and exploring non-obvious relationships,
- text and visual analytical techniques and
- many new hardware and software platforms (tools).
Organizations from all sectors of society are looking to leverage data as never before. Therefore, an ever increasing demand for trained professionals in the fields of organizational analytics is occurring. The minor is open to all majors across campus. The minor requires 15 hours.
