In place of an art history elective, students with a photography concentration are required to take ART 390 History of Photography and students with a graphic design concentration are required to take ART 332, History of Graphic Design.

Students taking the pathway in graphic design must take the additional ART 496 BFA Design Senior Project, for a total of 21 hours. Students taking the BFA pathway in photography must take each of the listed photography courses for a total of 21 hours.

Because the photography and graphic design concentrations require 21 hours of studio courses, instead of 18, the number of studio electives for the BFA in those two concentrations is reduced by 3 hours.
