The Biology Department offers graduate programs leading to a Master of Science in Biology degree (MS in Biology and BS/MS 4+1 in Biology. The programs provide graduate education that will allow students to be successful in following a number of differing career paths or Ph.D. programs. The degrees require completion of a significant research project, completion of a written thesis, and defense of that thesis. The programs deliver significant experience in all aspects of scientific research. This preparation should allow the biologists who graduate from the programs to be well versed in the requirements of working scientists and professionals.
