University-Level Oversight
The Director of Graduate Education, in conjunction with the Executive Committee of the Graduate Faculty, develops policies and procedures that guide all activities relating to post-baccalaureate education at Bradley. Together, they serve to provide guidance and leadership for initiating and maintaining post baccalaureate programs of the highest quality. This includes:
- supporting Graduate Program Coordinators and Directors
- approving membership to the Graduate Faculty
- assuring uniformly high quality by establishing standards for all programs
- acting as the administrator for non-degree programs
- acting as an advocate before the university administration in support of departments and colleges offering graduate programs.
Chief among the various roles of the Director of Graduate Education is providing for the welfare of graduate students and members of the graduate faculty by identifying the needs of both of these constituencies. These needs are brought to light by seeking input through the Executive Committee of the Graduate Faculty, program coordinators, department chairs/directors, and the Graduate Student Advisory Committee. Once needs are identified, the Director of Graduate Education is charged with the responsibility of seeking a means to meeting these needs as expeditiously as possible.
